What makes ExpansiveCombinedBarV2 special?
The indicator identifies Expansive Ranges. When the price moves within a channel and fails to break the established extremes, a range is initiated. The magic happens when the price finally breaks through one of the lines: the indicator closes that range and draws a combined sailing which summarises all price action occurring within it.
1. Intelligent Adaptation to Volatility
The market does not behave the same during the day as it does at night. Volatility changes, and the tolerance for considering a breakout should also change.
- Variable tolerance: Allows to set a different break tolerance for day and night time (in ticks).
- Full customisation: You can define the start and end times of each session, adapting it to any market (Forex, Futures, ETFs).
2. Clear Visualisation with Expanding Lines
The indicator draws horizontal lines representing the high and low of the active expanding range. As the range expands, the lines move, showing you in real time the evolution of the price channel.
3. The Combined Sailing Revolution
At the end of an expansionary range, the indicator draws a synthetic sail which summarises the whole period: opening on the first candle of the range, closing on the last candle before the breakout, and wicks extended to the extremes of the whole range.
Strategies for use
- Breakout: Wait for the price to close out of the range with the appropriate tolerance to enter in the direction of the breakout.
- Reversion: Use the boundaries of the range as support or resistance points to trade against the movement in the expectation of a rebound.
